When Carroll Shelby made his first shelby in 1962 he couldn’t of imagine the popularity of the vehicle.
In 1964 Ford approached Carroll Shelby to design what is know know as the Shelby Mustang. The first one was produced in 1965 and was for racing.
Then in 1967 the production of the ‘68 Shelby Mustang and the Shelby Mustang convertables are produced. There were only about 1,000 Cobra Mustangs produced from 1962-1968.
The Cobra Mustang is a car legend. Finding a project car for the Cobra’s is nearly impossible for cheap restorable vehicles. Since there were very few of these made they are very valuable. If you can find a car that is original you will pay dearly for it. But then after all, you would be buying history.
